Agility training

Agility training involves a lot of point-clicking and it can take a lot of focus to maximise experience gain. Higher Agility level increases one's ability to regenerate run energy and grants access to various shortcuts.

There are various ways to receive bonus XP:

Wearing graceful outfit: +10% XP per worn piece (up to +60% for 6 pieces).
Voting or by using an XP lamp (+20% XP for 1 hour).
Becoming a donator.

The effective agility XP you receive is calculated as follows:

${\text{Effective XP}}={\text{Base XP}}\times {\text{Graceful Bonus}}\times ({\text{Vote Bonus}}+{\text{Donator Bonus}})$

For example, if a regular player is wearing three pieces of graceful outfit (+30%), has just voted (+20%) and is an Onyx donator (+60%) while completing a lap of the Gnome Stronghold agility course, they will receive ${\text{6,000 XP}}\times 130\%\times (120\%+60\%)=14,040{\text{ XP}}$ .

The XP rates per hour in the tables below are calculated based on the XP for one lap and the estimated time one needs to finish a lap. See Agility for more information about these data.

Marks of grace

Marks of grace can be obtained while training on any of the Rooftop Agility Courses. These can be used to purchase the pieces of the graceful outfit, recolour existing pieces of the graceful outfit or purchase amylase packs at the Grace's Graceful Store, located south of the Edgeville bank.

Completing the Ardougne, Kandarin and Varrock Diaries boosts the player's drop rate of marks of grace respectively for the Ardougne Rooftop Course, the Seers' Village Rooftop Course and the Varrock Rooftop Course.

Every time a player clicks an object along a rooftop agility course, there is a chance that a mark will spawn somewhere along the course. This chance is 1 in ${{\text{Agility level}} \over X}+1$ , with $X$ being 15, 18, 21, 24 or 27 depending on whether the player has completed no diary, the easy, medium, hard or elite diary respectively. This chance is rounded down to the nearest whole number, so a chance of 1 in 3.9 would become a 1 in 3 chance.

For example, an agility level of 45 with no diary completed has a 1 in 4 chance ( ${45 \over 15}+1=4$ ) to spawn a mark every time an object is clicked. For an agility level of 45 with the elite diary completed, this is a 1 in 2 chance ( ${45 \over 27}+1=2.67=2$ ).

There are two limiting factors to the spawning of marks of grace. A roll will only be performed once every 5 seconds at the most, and there is a 15 second cooldown when a mark spawns before another mark can be spawned.

Fastest experience

Levels 1–30: Gnome Stronghold Agility Course

It only takes 3 laps of the Gnome Stronghold Agility Course to reach level 30 Agility for regular players without any XP bonus. Extreme mode players will have to do this course maximum 90 times, which should take less than one hour.

Levels 30-35: Varrock Rooftop Course

Although players can collect marks of grace in the Varrock Rooftop Course, this course should only be done until the player can go to the next level course, because this course is the longest and therefore the least advantageous in terms of XP.

One lap of the Varrock Rooftop Course should suffice for regular players to reach level 35 Agility. Without any XP bonuses, extreme mode players will have to complete this course 38 times, which would take a little over 40 minutes. An extreme mode player will probably be able to buy at least one piece of the graceful outfit with the obtained marks of grace from this course. Those pieces can be bought from Grace south of the Edgeville bank and give 10% bonus Agility XP per worn piece.

Levels 35-52: Barbarian Outpost Agility Course

Without any XP bonuses, regular players have to run 10 laps of the Barbarian Outpost Agility Course and extreme mode players 383 laps to reach an Agility level of 52. This is the fastest Agility course. It will take about 5 minutes for regular players to reach level 52 Agility, while extreme mode players will need more than 3 hours for it without XP bonuses.

During this course, extreme mode players will probably complete the easy achievement for Agility and are likely to complete the medium one as well, depending on how many laps they have to run if they enjoy XP bonuses. Completing the easy achievement rewards the player with 15 marks of grace; completing the medium achievement gives 50 marks of grace.

Levels 52-60: Wilderness Agility Course

The Wilderness Agility Course yields the highest Agility XP for regular players. After maximum 6 laps for regular players and 251 for extreme mode players, the player will achieve level 60 Agility. This means less than 5 minutes for regular players and about 3 hours for extreme mode players.

Because extreme mode players should, in the meantime, already have some pieces of the graceful outfit, it's very unlikely that those players will actually have to run as many laps.

This course is in high level Wilderness, so it's not without risk. The pieces of the graceful outfit are automatically kept on death, but marks of grace are not.

Levels 60 until the full graceful outfit is obtained: Seers' Village Rooftop Course

There will be approximately 1 or 2 marks of grace to be picked up per lap of the Seers' Village Rooftop Course. Assuming a regular player has almost no marks of grace when they start this course, they will have to run about 120 laps. An extreme mode player can already have 3 or 4 pieces of the graceful outfit, so 50 laps more or less would be enough to complete the outfit.

This way, regular players will reach level 85 Agility after 1.5 hours; extreme mode players won't gain as much XP, but will have the graceful outfit after about 40 minutes.

Levels 60/85-90/99: Wilderness Agility Course

For regular players, the Wilderness Agility Course is the fastest way to gain Agility XP, so they can keep running this course until level 99. Assuming they start this course at level 85, with the full graceful outfit, this will take a maximum of 260 runs or about 3 hours.

Extreme mode players should run the Wilderness Agility Course until level 90 Agility. Wearing the full graceful outfit this shouldn't take more than 5,284 laps or about 62 hours.

Levels 90-99: Ardougne Rooftop Course

The Ardougne Rooftop Course is the best course for gaining Agility XP. For extreme mode players this will roughly take another 85 hours with the full graceful outfit on for a maximum of 6,060 laps.

Other methods

The fastest ways to gain Agility experience depends on whether the player also wants to obtain the graceful outfit, plans on doing the Achievement Diaries, or neither of those.
