Hunter training
As players level up the Hunter skill, they gain the ability to catch creatures which award greater amounts of experience when they are caught. Levelling up the Hunter skill also allows players to lay more traps at once.
Chinchompas
Regular and red chinchompas can be found northwest of the Hunter teleport (under Skilling Teleports). Black chinchompas are found in the wilderness, west of Vet'ion (under Wilderness Teleports). Alternative ways to reach black chinchompas is by teleporting to Lava dragons (under Wilderness teleports) and running southwest or teleporting to the King Black Dragon (under Boss teleports) and running southeast.
Fastest experience
The fastest way to gain Hunter experience depends on whether the player is willing to hunt in the Wilderness or not.
The fastest way to gain Hunter experience risking the Wilderness:
- Levels 1–55: Birds
- Levels 53-63: Regular chinchompas
- Levels 63-73: Red chinchompas
- Levels 73-99: Black chinchompas
The fastest way to gain Hunter experience otherwise:
- Levels 1–55: Birds
- Levels 53-63: Regular chinchompas
- Levels 63-99: Red chinchompas
Tip: Donators have access to dragon implings and, occasionally, a lucky impling in the donator zone. Players must wield a butterfly net, have an empty impling jar in their inventory and have the required Hunter level to be able to catch implings. Catching dragon implings requires level 83 Hunter, for a lucky impling the player needs at least 89 Hunter. Looting dragon implings yield a lot of (baby)dragon bones, ranged ammunition and dragon arrowtips (which, in turn, can be used for gaining Fletching experience).
